Maggie and her Matron of Honor, Julia
Hunter left with a cooler...now that's a party! On Friday night my parents along with Marc and I threw an engagement party for our dear friend Maggie. I have known Maggie her entire life. Our parents are good friends, her mom was my kindergarten teacher (and will take credit for my eventually going to Clemson)! :) We had a "Clemson" theme for the party, the Clemson/S. Carolina game was the next day afterall.
GUD was supposed to be our babysitter that night, but since he fell ill, we had to scramble to find a new one. My mom called several friends and had one back up if we needed it, but she already had her grandkids that evening and we didn't want to throw our crazy brood in there on top of that. Mom mentioned that she did still want Paulette to be her friend after Friday night, we couldn't be 100% that would be true if she had to watch my three. haha! We found a babysitter though on Wednesday. At the mall. No, we didn't go around the mall trolling for random people. I wasn't putting those precious faces out there to ask strangers if they would like to come babysit them Friday night. Mom and I were coming out of a store Wednesday when a young girl called, "Mrs. Bruner!" (so, see, she wasn't a stranger, mom knew her) In fact, she had taught her in 2nd grade. She is a junior in college now, and was home for the break. My mom asked her if she was doing anything Friday night, turns out she wasn't. Score! See people, magical things happen in malls, that's why it is one of my favorite places! ;) heehee So, with a babysitter lined up, and one that we felt comfortable with and trusted, we could enjoy the party.
We had a great time celebrating Maggie and Jonathan's engagement. I can't wait for their wedding in the Spring! And oh yeah, Maggie may just be about the craziest person I know because she has put my 3 wild and crazy kids in her wedding! Yikes! Andrew will be fine, just a little shy, Mary Mac will want it to be all about her (sorry, Mags), and I'm not sure Emma will leave my side to walk down the aisle. Hopefully things will change between now and then....
