The weekend before last, we took the kids down to Pawleys Island for a quick trip to the beach and a visit with GUD. The kids had a blast and were most upset when it was time to come home. We promised them we would be back though and that next time, hopefully we would be able to get even more beach time in!
On Saturday morning we got up and decided to go over to the Hammock Shops to walk around and let the kids play while we waited for it to get warm enough for us to go out on the beach. They had fun playing on the little playground and Mary Mac even found a little tree to climb. We left the Hammock Shops and went back to GUD's house to eat lunch and get our bathing suits on to head over to the beach.
We went out to Huntington after lunch and enjoyed several hours on the beach. The kids were in heaven being back there. Andrew and Mary McLean didn't mind the freezing cold water one bit, poor Marc had to brave the frigid temps with them though, unfortunately. Emma ran from the incoming waters at first, but had warmed up to the ocean somewhat more by the time we left for the day.
We had a great time out on the beach and even got to see an unusual beach wedding, but hey, at least we had entertainment! :)
On Sunday, we tried to head back out on the beach for a little bit, but it was way too cold to stay out there more than the 5 minutes we were there. As you can see by the above pictures it was quite cloudy and windy. The adults and Emma were all wrapped up in beach towels trying to keep warm. Andrew and Mary Mac were disappointed that we had to leave. We promised to bring them back in May sometime when it would be a bit warmer and they would be able to enjoy more beach time.
