Emma at 10 months

Emma is 10 months old now. I took her to the doctor on Friday for her 9 month check up (we were without insurance in May because of Marc's job switch). Emma was exactly where I predicted her being in weight at 23 lbs! WOW! She is back on the charts now though at 95th percentile. (At 6 months she was at or above the 100th percentile in weight..poor thing). She has slowed down on her height some which surprised me. She was not quite 29 inches long (28 7/8 to be exact), and is now somewhere between the 50th and 75th percentile. The doctor said she would probably remain there. So I guess Emma is our short, chunky child. ;) She has really slowed down on the weight gain since she started crawling and will probably slow even more when she starts walking. The doctor did also hear a murmur again in her heart, but said since it comes and goes, it is most likely benign. Not sure what that means, so maybe I should do some research on heart murmurs. Marc works for a cardiologist group now and I made him ask if it sounded like something we should be worried about and they said no, it was fairly common in babies and small children, and that's why the pediatrician isn't concerned yet.

Emma is doing great and remains a very happy, content baby. We bought a push-walker for her a couple weeks ago and she is doing great with it. Maybe she will be walking before her 1st birthday! :)
