Projects

This week has been my week to get several "projects" done around the house. Marc says we have more projects going on right now than we know what to do with. ;) First up, the dining room...

We bought a new rug for our dining room last weekend on our trip to Gaffney. I loved it and it looked so good in the room, but the room was screaming for me to paint it! I convinced Marc that this would be a good week for me to paint since Andrew would be in Columbia, so off we went to Lowes in search of paint. I have really missed my red dining room from our last house, so I decided to go with what I already know I like! Now I just need to find a window treatment...

Next up, the kids bathroom. Also while we were in Gaffney, we went to the Pottery Barn Outlet. Let me just tell you, I love this place! I have been wanting to make over the kids bathroom for some time. The ducks were getting old. We also had never had a bathroom as long as this one, so we didn't have enough duck bathmats, and of course after 5 years, they weren't making that same one anymore...fine with me...should be easy enough to find something for the kids, right!? Wrong. I've been looking for probably 2 years now and hadn't found anything that I though suited. Well, low and behold, we walk in the Pottery Barn Outlet and there it is. A simple stripe shower curtain with pink AND blue. Not overly masculine or feminine. Perfect for my kiddies. Of course I'm not going to buy the matching white towels for their use. Those will be for our guests...off to Target for matching towels for the kids....
I also got this shelf for Marc to put up to help hold our plethora of bubble baths and shampoos. Also worked well for holding the guest towels. :)
Last, Mary McLean's room. I have been wanting to hang her name on the wall for the longest time, it's just that her name is so darn long! I know...my fault, I named her afterall. Well, I decided to bite the bullet and buy the letters while at Michael's the other day. I brought them home and painted them during naptime and had them hung before she went to bed that night. They look so cute above her bed and she loves to look at them. I love decorating kids rooms, it's so much fun! :)
