12 month portraits

We went and had Emma's 12 month portraits taken today at Portrait Innovations. I know I may be a little biased, but I swear, my kids are just too photogenic (they take after their daddy there). I always have a hard time narrowing down the choices! ;) Emma did great and we were in and out of there in no time.

At 12 months, Emma is still such a happy girl. She has been walking for almost a month now, and just yesterday was able to come down 2 steps by herself. She has been climbing the stairs since she was 7 1/2-8 months, but of course wasn't able to come down herself. Yesterday she started climbing up two steps and then sitting down for a second, then she would turn around and scoot back down. What a smart girl! She is saying more things all the time. I'm sure most of you saw the post that she is saying "Mommy" now, well the other day, she started saying "daddy" every now and then. She also knows how to say: Hi, uh-oh, nigh-nigh (night-night), here you go, peek a boo, bye bye, ball, puppy, love puppy, and hello. I know I am forgetting a few, but you get the idea. When she hears the phone ring, she will hold her hand up to her ear like she is holding a phone there. She also thinks that the remote is a phone and will hold that to her ear as well. She's getting faster and faster with her walking and will be running away from me before too much longer.

We had her one year check up Tuesday and she was tipping the scales at 24 lbs 2 oz, and was 30.5 inches tall (90th percentile in both). Such a big girl! Enjoy the pictures of my precious pumpkin!
