The Princess dances...

I have been eagerly awaiting this day since the ultrasound tech told me a little over 3 years ago that it was a "girl." Mary McLean had her first dance class last night! She was very excited when we were leaving because she got to put on her new pink tights and new pink leotard, and carry her new princess backback. She wanted to put on her "glass slippers" too (ballet slippers..do you think she's watched a little too much Cinderella?) but I told her I wasn't sure if she needed those on first or her tap shoes, so I was able to convince her to just wear her crocs until we got there. When we got to the studio, the class had already started, thanks to some traffic issues we ran into, so the receptionist, Ms. Betty, said she would take her into class. Mary McLean wasn't too sure about taking her hand and going with her and I thought we were going to have our first meltdown, but she went along with her hesitantly. Ms. Betty came out a few minutes later and said she was doing fine. I heard a couple of cries during the class, but none of them sounded familiar. Thankfully I didn't hear Mary McLean the entire time. At the end of class, I was waiting while the girls filed out of the door, Mary Mac came out with a huge grin on her face and said, "Mommy, I had fun!" I was so excited to hear she enjoyed it. She keeps talking about when she goes back "tomorrow." (Hope she can hold out until next Tuesday) :)
