I've already mentioned in the post below that we had our first diaper-free family outing yesterday to the pumpkin patch. Well, today was another first for us. Andrew got on his bike and rode all by himself! I'm so proud of him. We have been trying to get him to do this for the longest time, and Marc and I knew he could if he tried, but as soon as we would let go, he would pedal about 2 feet and then swerve into the grass. Finally, we just decided to let him ride on the street (I know, bad parents). Well, I guess the sidewalk was holding him back, as soon as we got in the street, he took off. He is still having problems with doing a U-turn (as evidenced by the crash at the end of the video), but this is a HUGE step for him! Great job, buddy! We're so proud of you!!!

Great job! The street is definitely key. The sidewalk is just too narrow when they're still wobbly. Cul-de-sacs are great for teaching the turning.
What a stud! That was an awesome wipeout:)melissa c
Cute! I love the swerving and crash at the end. Good job, Andrew!!
I love this...I too like that you caught a crash on video, he will laugh at that in the future!
