Wedding weekend

Nothing is better than a wedding, but a wedding in Clemson is the best kind of all!  This past weekend we got to spend the weekend celebrating the marriage of a dear friend, Maggie.  I have known Maggie her entire life.  Seriously.  I think I was in 2nd grade when she was born.  The Alley's are like family to us, we love them all so much, and they are very special to my kids as well!  The kids were honored to be asked to take part in Maggie and Jonathan's special day.  Andrew was a ring bearer, and Mary Mac and Emma were flower girls.  I must say, Maggie and Jonathan are either very laid back, or they are completely crazy asking these three to take such important roles in their day.  Ha!

When it came down to it though, they did great, and I was pleasantly surprised that Emma actually walked down the aisle.  It looked like there was a minute there that she wasn't going to actually go through with it.  When I told her that walking down the aisle was the only way for her to get her daddy, she ran right over to Mary Mac and the other flower girl, Beattie, and got ready to go.  :)  Hopefully they didn't disrupt the wedding too badly, like when Marc told Emma it was time to pray, and she started singing, "God our Father" or just decided to sing "Mary Had a Little Lamb."  Or when Mary Mac was talking and Marc told her she couldn't talk, so she started humming instead?  My goodness.  I wasn't able to sit with them due to Emma's last minute decision to actually walk down the aisle, so I didn't know about this until after the fact.  ;)

The kids really did well the entire weekend and I know they were exhausted.  Andrew fell asleep during the rehearsal dinner and missed dinner.  Emma was the only one to take a nap on Saturday between the Bridal brunch and pictures.  And Mary Mac fell sound asleep on the way from the church to the reception, which luckily was a good distance away so she got a semi-decent nap in.  At the reception, Mary McLean was quite enamored with Maggie and her beautiful dress.  She wanted to dance with Maggie and followed her around, even using the bride to cut in the cake line for a piece of cake. (hey, that's pretty smart thinking in my book).  I told Maggie that she may have an extra traveler with her on her honeymoon.  The only thing that deterred Mary Mac's attention was the entrance of the Tiger Cub.  Oh boy, was Mary Mac excited!  She danced, and danced, and danced with the Tiger Cub.  She followed him around as he went through the reception getting pictures with everyone.  She gave him so many hugs and high fives.  We finally had to pull her away so he could see everyone else at the reception that was waiting a turn for a photo op.  Emma was not a fan.  She is terrified of any costumed character.  She kept a good tracking on the Tiger at all times and made sure he wasn't coming anywhere near her.  It really was hilarious to watch her craning her neck so she could keep an eye on where he was located.  Andrew had fun tearing up the dance floor.  He got shy with all the pretty girls there and when one of Maggie's friends came to ask him to dance, he went and hid under the table from her.  Definately doesn't take after his daddy, I guess!  ;)

It was a beautiful weekend, and we had so much fun.  Unfortunately my camera was left on our desk in Charlotte, so I have to wait to get pics from my mom and Lori.  :(  I'm very upset that I don't have any pictures yet, so hopefully they will send me some ASAP! (hint, hint)  :)
