From the mouths of (my) babes

Some funny conversations at our house in the past couple of weeks.

Andrew's birthday:

After we opened presents we took Andrew's new tent up to his room and he wanted everyone to come play in his room, including me and Marc. After a little while, Marc got up to go change out of his work clothes. Andrew started fussing at him about leaving...

Andrew: No, daddy! I want you to play in my room, and I'm the birthday boy.
Marc: I'm just going to change clothes, Andrew.
Andrew: But you have to do what I want because I'm the birthday boy.
Me: Andrew, I'm going to run to the bathroom real quick and when I come back we can play in your room.
Andrew: See! Mommy said what she is supposed to to the birthday boy, and now you have to do it too!

Church

We were getting dressed for church one Sunday and I pulled out one of MM's dresses that she hadn't worn since before Christmas. She saw which one I had pulled out and got very excited.

MM: I'm going to wear that dress, mommy?!
Me: Yes, is this alright?
MM: Yay! Emma can't wear this one anymore?

I guess she has now accepted the fact that before too much longer she will be taking hand-me-downs from her baby sister instead of the other way around....
