18 months

Hey, mom-give me that paci, and I'm not ready for a bathing suit yet!
Better lift some weights to get my body in shape for summer

I don't know what it is about Winter, but come January/February, my camera gets little to no use. Sorry to report that I don't have very good pictures to add along with this post.

Emma turned 18 months on Tuesday, only 6 more months until she is 2, can that really be possible? Emma is growing at lightning speed (outwards, not upwards) LOL. I took her for her 18 month check up yesterday (yes, yet another visit down to Rock Hill Peds). She weighed in at 31 lbs and was 33 inches tall. Will this child ever stop gaining weight???? Dr. Edwards said she looked great and developmentally she was fantastic- Emma really does have a huge vocabulary and understands so many things already, very advanced for her age group.
As she was examining her we found out that Emma has an ear infection. What? Seriously? We didn't have a clue. She couldn't believe that Emma had been so laid back with this infection. I just said, "that's Emma." She said she was probably the calmest and most cooperative 18 month old she'd seen in forever. Again I asked about the weight problem and she said, if she is still on this upward curve at her 2 year check up, then she'll start fussing, but not to worry, that she had done this before where she had a big upswing in weight and then slowed down again, and that at least she was tall, so she was proportionate.

This morning I decided to have the girls try on some clothes my parents had ordered them through Chez Ami. Yes, MM wanted to put one of Emma's outfits on, and yes, it fit MM perfectly. I think by this summer, their closets will double in size because they will be sharing clothes back and forth. Poor Emma, she weighs the same as a 3 year old, but she's the size of an 18 month old. ;)

Again, sorry for the bad pictures...hopefully with the springish like weather this weekend I will get motivated to pull the camera out and get some nice shots of the kids again.

I think Emma looks great. Her outfits are too cute! When I told Adam about your previous post about Emma's weight he said that he has seen lots of research that plump babies/toddlers end up being a lot smarter than those that are thinner when young. I guess she is proving that theory right with all of her snazzy vocab!
