A new week

A new antibiotic. First it was the eye drops for Pink Eye, then Emma was on Amoxocillan for her ear infection, and then the iron drops for MM's iron levels.

If you follow the blog, you will remember that I thought she might have had a UTI a few weeks ago when she had pink eye and we saw the evil spawn Dr, and he said she was fine. Well, she has been having more and more accidents lately and yesterday she started screaming that "It hurts" when she would go potty, that and some really foul smelling urine, prompted me to make another appointment to take her in. I called and asked specifically for an appt with our doctor, but she didn't have any appointments available today. The nurse could tell, I really wanted to get her in and mentioned that Dr. Alexander, and Dr. Evil Spawn were also in and had openings, I jumped on the appointment with Dr. Alexander, I really like him a lot, and I was NOT going back to the other one.

We arrived at our appointment and the nurse was so sweet with MM (already a bonus from the last one). I took her to the bathroom to do her urine sample and it took 5 mintues for me to coax her into going, she just kept screaming and crying about it hurting, poor thing! The nurse came and collected the sample and not even 2 minutes later Dr. Alexander was in our room and said that she did have a UTI and possibly bladder/kidney infection. They are sending the sample off to the lab for a culture, so we won't have those results for a couple of days. So now we are on an antibiotic for the UTI and have to go back in 2 weeks to have her urine tested again. They really should name the practice after us. We've been there every week this month (with the exception of last week), we go next week for Andrew's 6 year check up, and MM's bloodwork.

Glad to hear Mary Mac is doing better...I'm so sorry she had to go through all of that! Mom told me y'all were stranded in Cola. Glad to hear y'all are home safely!

Woah! You have been busy...took me a while to catch up. You are always welcome to stay with us in Columbia too. :) Hope everything is back to normal in the Baur household and that MM is feeling better already.

Gosh......what a crazy couple of days. Poor little MM! I am glad she is finally on an antibiotic and hopefully on the mend! You must be exhausted, as well! Let me know if you need anything!

How awful for MM!-- and for you and all those co-pays! Sometimes I feel like Randolph Pediatrics should be renamed "Greenawalt Pediatrics." I hope MM is feeling better soon and that your whole house is crud free! :) ((hugs))
