They have what?

Yesterday at church, the rising 1st graders received little Bibles to bring with them when they come to church each week. This caused quite the commotion in our car on the way home because Mary Mac was MOST upset that she didn't get one.

MM: Mommy, I want a Bible too!
Me: You'll get one when you're Andrew's age
MM: No, I won't, I will NEVER get one!
Me: Mary Mac, we have a Bible at home you can look at, it has pictures in it too!
MM: No, I want one like Andrew's that doesn't have any pictures, and I will never get one!
Andrew: Mary Mac, you can't even read this one!
MM: Mommy, Andrew said I can't read!
Me: Honey, I doubt that Andrew can read all of that Bible either!
Andrew: Do you want me to read you something from this Bible, Mary Mac? Here, let's read from Chapter 3.
(long pause)
Andrew: Oh my, they have China words in here!

Marc and I could not contain our laughter, and the kids could not figure out what we were laughing at!

I'm so glad Andrew cleared that up for me! All these years I thought the bible was written in something similiar to Spanish! Sheww! I'm so glad he cracked the mystery.

Very funny! PS----happy to know that children who are not yet readers, when given a lot of words on a page just chock it up to Chinese( which totally makes sense b/c it's symbols)---perhaps I'll look out for this in my class :0)
