Man, I wish I had a Snuggie!

Yes, the unthinkable has happened!  It has started snowing in Charlotte.  Those of you who know me well, know that I can not STAND cold weather, let alone snow.  Give me 90 degree weather, a beach, a Bloody Mary, and a good book, and I'm happy as a clam!  But, I do remember the excitement and anticipation of snow when I was a kid, so I put on my happy face for the kids, while on the inside I'm cringing and staring longingly at my cozy sofa, fireplace, and blanket.  I even woke the kids up from their naps (well, the girls HAD been asleep for 3 hours, so I guess it was time), so they could get outside and enjoy the snow before it got dark.  Andrew loved it, any excuse to get outdoors and that kid is happy.  Emma, was a little unsure at first, but took her brother's lead and tried catching a few snowflakes on her tongue.  She didn't stay out for very long, neither did I for that matter, as I was still in my gym clothes.  I'm sure I was quite a site for the neighbors photographing my kids all bundled up in their warmest while I'm running around snapping pictures in my cropped yoga pants, t-shirt and pullover fleece (and yes, my sunglasses were still perched atop my head).  I thought Mary Mac was sharing my contempt of the snow as she stood in the doorway bundled up pouting and refusing to come outside.  Evidently she only needed a little more time to wake up before she went outside.  She finally did, ran out caught a few snowflakes, cooperated long enough for me to capture a few memories, and then quickly came back inside to shed her gear, and promptly ask for a hot chocolate.  Total time elapsed outside for her: less than 5 minutes, now that's my kind of girl!  Anywho, enjoy the pics.  It looks as if this stuff is sticking, so maybe if it keeps up we can get some photos outside tomorrow with some snow actually on the ground.

I could be worse, Marianne, we're supposed to get 12-16" up here by tomorrow night and it's already been a loooong winter. This will most likely be the best Spring in all my memories! Idea...put the kids in bed early and go enjoy that fireplace!
