While I was getting ready Wednesday morning to head out to Hollywood Studios, I heard my phone beep indicating that I had received a text. I pulled it out and saw that I had one from my mom that simply read: "call me." That's never a good sign. I called her immediately and found out that Andrew had been throwing up since around 4am. Oh no! We're on his dream vacation, he's not supposed to be sick! We had planned on taking it easy on Wednesday so that we could go hard on Thursday, our last day. This however, was not what I had in mind. They called back about 45 minutes later and said that Andrew said he was feeling better and wanted to try and go, so we went out to the bus stop to wait for our bus.
While we were waiting Andrew started dragging more and more, it was obvious that he really wasn't up for going. My mom sent the rest of us on ahead and said she would stay with him and if he started feeling better, she would bring him out later. I hated to leave him there, but I knew he was in good hands and just where he wanted to be with his Nana.
We got to Hollywood Studios and Marc and I immediately got fastpasses for Aerosmith's Rock n Roller Coaster, and then went to stand in line for Tower of Terror while my dad sat with the girls. We knocked those two rides out and then took Mary McLean to see the Journey of the Little Mermaid. It was really a cute little show with puppets and special effects. Emma sat very still and entranced in my lap the whole time. After we left the show, we saw that 2 of the Little Einsteins were out taking pictures, so we went to stand in line to meet them. Mary McLean once again, walked right up to them and had no fears, Emma was a little more timid, although she did give June a high five. For some reason, June didn't seem to frighten her as much as all the other costumed characters. When we finished with them, they were making the last call for the Playhouse Disney show, so we hurried inside to snag a seat. What a cute show! MM really liked it because she knew most of the songs, they did bits from Mickey Mouse Clubhouse, Little Einsteins, Tigger and Pooh, and Handy Manny! They had bubbles coming down from the ceiling at one point and it was all I could do to keep Emma from running all over the entire room popping them all, the child loves some bubbles! ;)
When we left the show, we decided we would head back to the resort and check on Andrew and see if we could perk him up somewhat. He and Nana met us at the food court and sat with us while we ate. He did manage to drink some water and keep it down, thank goodness. Andrew had is eye on a toy pirate pistol all week and we had told him we would get in on Thursday, our last day. Marc decided to see if he could perk him up some by taking him over to the gift shop and seeing about buying the little gun for him. Let me tell you, that brought the slightest bit of color back into his cheeks and he smiled for the first time that day! Then we went to the arcade and purchased a game card to play some games. That's when he REALLY perked up! He drove motorcycles, race cars, played air hockey, and more. We had such a great time playing together.
We left the arcade and went back to the room to settle down a little bit, we wanted to go see the SpectroMagic parade and Wishes Spectacular fireworks show at Magic Kingdom that night after dinner. We met for dinner at our resort restaurant again and got our dessert to go so we could head over. Evidently I read the times guide wrong because I thought the parade started at 8:00, but it started at 7:00 with the fireworks at 8:00. We totally missed the parade, and I was bummed about that, but the fireworks were amazing. MM was very excited about seeing Tinkerbelle fly from Cinderella's castle down to start the show. On the way back to the bus after the fireworks, Andrew and Emma both fell asleep in their strollers. Poor things were worn out.
We were ready for a big day on Thursday to wrap up our wonderful trip.
