We made it down to Isle of Palms on Friday around 10:30 that morning, and the kids couldn't have been more excited. Honestly, I couldn't either though. Once Nana and Pops arrived with the keys, we made quick work of unloading the cars and getting settled into the house. Pops made a quick run to the grocery store for a few of the things we needed for lunch, and by 1:00, we were out on the beach. The wind was brutal though, so the girls didn't last very long out there, the sand was stinging their legs and faces, so they went back up the house, really I think they used that as an excuse to see if the pirates had been to visit yet. Yes, it's true, we have a sneaky pirate that comes and leaves burried treasures for them every day while we are at the beach. He also leaves a book on the counter for them to read. Not too long after the girls left, Andrew went back up to the house too, worried that they might go hunting for treasure without him!
It was a great first day at the beach, and we were pumped for the rest of the week!
Waiting for Nana and Pops to get there with the key.
