Today was Emma's 15 month check up. To say Emma is a big girl would be an understatement. She tipped the scales at 27.5 pounds! YIKES! To put that into perspective, at 15 months, Andrew was 25 pounds (and we thought he was big), Mary McLean on the other hand was only 22 pounds, Mary McLean also only weighed 28 pounds at her 2 year checkup, and stayed at 28 until about 2 months ago. Emma measured 31.5 inches long, Andrew and Mary Mac were both 32 inches. So not only is Emma bigger, she is shorter too....poor thing. Dr Edwards assured me I didn't need to concern myself with her weight, that she was fine. I told Marc before I went in, that I was worried they were going to tell me she was obese.
Dr. Edwards did hear Emma's murmur again (she has heard it at all but one checkup since she was born), so they have referred us to the cardiologist to have it checked. Andrew's was always hit or miss if they heard it or not, but Emma's seems to be heard just about every time. We will wait and see what we hear from the pediatric cardiologist, but I'm expecting the same results as with Andrew's, just a benign murmur.
Other than that, Emma did great. Dr. Edwards was most impressed with her verbal skills and even got to hear Emma tell her the sounds of a duck, dog, and cow. Emma had 4 shots today, so she has been a little out of sorts this afternoon, but hopefully will be back to her joyful self tomorrow.
